Joining SB

- Be an active member in good standing in our Sub-clan [sb]. If you are not already a member of [sb], look below to get information on how to join. If you haven't been a part of [sb] and haven't met its' requirements, you won't be eligible to join {SB}.

- Request a scrim to show your in game progress. You can post a challenge in our challenge board or PM one of our members.

Furthermore, here are a few of the major things we look for from perspective members:

- Maturity. SB primarily consists of members that are over 18. Therefore, we enforce a general age rule of 18+ only. However, exceptions can be made, although rare.

- Skill. Although we don't compete in many leagues or structured competition, we still have scrims and intra-clan matches. We take in people that have shown a high amount of skill, and a good understanding of how the game is played. We may also accept players that may not be highly skilled, but shows a willingness to get better.

- Activeness. We require all of our members to be active in the forum, on vent, and in the servers. We do understand that there are other things more important in life than this clan, but you should be a regularly active participant in the clan affairs.

- Conduct. We hold ourselves to a high standard of conduct inside and outside of our servers. Following rules and treating others with respect is a must to be in this clan.

When you have put in your time in on the above we will personally invite you into the clan. The time frame for invitation is varied; some members have been invited in a week, some in a matter of months.

Also note that if you are not living up to our potential as a {SB} member, you can be suspended from the clan or removed altogether. Please make sure that you are fully committed to being a part of this clan and abiding by its' guidelines before accepting membership if you we offer it to you.

Your reward will be worth it in the end. You will notice that your skill will increase much faster as an {SB} member. You will have access to the member section of the forum and site and our private talk communication program Ventrilo. But most of all, you will be with a group of people that all share a passion for gaming.

the [sb] sub clan

What is [sb]?

[sb] is the sub-clan of {SB}; our evaluation process of prospective members.

The Cabinet will evaluate members of [sb] and determine the appropriate time to set up a clan vote for {SB} membership. Of course all of the rules of entrance into {SB} must be followed.

How can I join [sb]?

The following things are required from you to even be considered for membership. No Exceptions.

- Join our forum and introduce yourself in that section of the forum, stating the following information:

- Which game/games your application is being considered for? (i.e. Halo, CS)
- Game Tag *if name is inappropriate we can ask you to change it*
- Age
- Days/months/years played in the game
- Previous clan experience
- How you found Slingblades
- If you have a mic
- Contact info: X-fire, AIM, etc. screen names

-You MUST have a microphone when you ask to join. Not "I'll get one this week". You NEED a microphone so you can communicate with other members using Ventrillo.
-Sit tight, play with {SB} or [sb] members, and be active in the forums. If you meet all of the criteria stated above, and feel you could potentially be a good fit for {SB}, a Cabinet member will give you permission to wear the [sb] tag. If your application is denied, you will be required to wait three months before you can re-apply.

Warning: Wearing an [sb] or {SB} tag before permission is usually an auto-ban from the game server and forum. DON'T DO IT.

So I'm in [sb]. Now what?

As stated above, in [sb], you will constantly be monitored by the Cabinet and members of {SB}. After all, [sb] is the evalutation process we use to see if you are worthy of joining {SB}. Your activity in our server, attitude on vent, and forum conduct are three of the things we look for in perspective {SB} members. At this point, you shouldn't be involved with any other clan. We do not allow dual clanning, unless it is outside of the games we support (Which are Halo PC, CS:S, and Guild Wars).

You now have access to our Ventrilo server, feel free to chat with any of the members on there, conduct for Vent is here. The more we get to know you, the better your chances for {SB} membership.

NOTE: Do NOT give out our vent information to ANYONE. If it is found that other people are using vent access from it being handed out by you/your negligence in letting friends onto your computer, you will be dismissed from [sb].

[sb] private forum access: You will be given access to an [sb] section in the forum that ONLY [sb] members can post in. Make a good impression and post smart in the forum, remember then entire time you are an [sb] your conduct is being reviewed for possible recruitment for {SB}.

At any time, a Cabinet member can ask you to take the tag off and leave the clan. If this is the case, you will be required to wait three months before you can re-apply for [sb].

Inactivity: You activity will be monitored by the Cabinet, if one becomes inactive for longer than 2 weeks from our server, you will be automatically be booted from [sb]. If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time TELL US. We understand there is life outside of gaming.

Conduct: As important, if not more, your conduct/attitude is what reflects what kind of clan we are. We are a respectful but aggressive clan. Swearing/cursing is allowed at [sb] but frowned upon when abused. Racial slurs are also a one way ticket out of [sb], don't use them. Server, Forum and Vent are all places of good conduct. Each has its own set of rules, read them, and follow them. They are mostly common sense, if you don't have that, buy some.

Any questions, comments, gripes, bitches or complaints should be directed to the Cabinet members.

How come so and so was promoted to {SB} before me?

Being promoted to {SB} isn't just about how long you've been in [sb] or how good you are. We take many things into consideration before promoting people. Here are a couple of them:

- Are you active on the forum? It's very hard to promote people that do not post regularly on the forum. The forum is one of the main ways we get to know each other personally, as vent is usually geared more towards actual in game play.

- Do you play regularly? Chances are that if you are playing pretty much everyday, you will be moved up to {SB} faster.

- Would you bring anything to the clan? Do you make suggestions on things we can do to make the clan better, or are you just here to use vent, the forum, and the server. Without suggestions from members, not much would get done around here.

- Are you mature? If you're constantly whining about being killed, or if you're a poor sport, you're not going to get into {SB} anytime soon, if at all.

- Are you likeable? The fact of the matter is that SlingBlades is a social group of gamers that enjoys playing games and chatting with each other. If you're having problems getting along with our laid back group of people, then this wouldn't be a good fit for you.

So if you've answered no to any of the questions above, that is probably the reason why you haven't been brought up to {SB} yet. But not to worry, we will give you sufficient time to work on those things. Just be patient and work at it. There will be time for you to make improvements upon these things and get fair consideration to be brought up.

We've had situations in the past where people whined about not getting brought up as fast as someone else, or not at all. If you are this type of person, go somewhere else. We don't accept crybabies or whiners. We do accept people that patiently wait and don't cause commotions about our recruiting policies.

Yes! I got into {SB}!

Congratulations. However, there is a short probation period after your entrance to {SB} so that we make sure you haven't faked your way through the process just to get into the clan. So don't think your evaluation is over quite yet...

Who oversees [sb]?

[sb] is overseen by The Cabinet.

The Cabinet consists of Arrowmancer, Mazda, and WarKaster.

These two {SB} members were elected by the clan to take care of [sb] matters. If any [sb] member has an issue with anything, these are the three people that should be contacted.
